Slime Care: Tips & Tutorials

♡ IMPORTANT SLIME CARE INFO ♡
Always wash your hands before and after playing with slime.

DID YOUR SLIME ARRIVE...
stiff or frozen?  Let it sit in your house to warm up.
sticky or completely melted? Follow instructions right below.

STICKY SLIME?
Receiving your slime sticky (or even in some cases where the climate is very hot, completely melted) is completely normal with homemade slime. It needs to be re-activated every few weeks to maintain its consistency, as the activator does not last forever.
Before anything, try washing your hands (and dry them well)! Sometimes, oily/sweaty/warm hands can make slime feel stickier. If your slime is still too sticky for your liking, try making some slime activator! The ratio is 1 cup of warm water to 1 teaspoon of borax, but you can make less than a full cup as long as you keep the same ratio.
After your activator is made, add a few drops to your slime and mix in well. Be cautious- over-activating can make your slime very hard, and you'll have to wait a few days to a week for it to de-activate to a normal consistency.

STICKY JELLY/ICEE SLIME?
Regular activator not working? These types of slime sometimes require a double-concentrated activator to get rid of stickiness. To make this, use the ratio 1/2 cup of warm water to 1 tsp of borax. Be very careful and only add a few drops at a time, as it is twice as easy to over-activate your slime with this activator!

MISCELLANEOUS
Slime may shrink/evaporate/melt/change colour if left in a very hot & sunny environment. Keep slime out of direct sunlight to avoid all of the above, and to extend its longevity.
Do not let slime come into contact with clothing, fabric, furniture, or anything that isn't easily washable. It is highly recommended to keep slime out of reach of very young children.

SLIME AND BORAX IS NOT EDIBLE. DO NOT INGEST.

SLIME FAQ

My slime is too hard and rips!
You added too much activator. Adding anything to the slime will change its texture, so I would recommend simply leaving it alone for a few days to a week.

My slime is sticky!
Add a bit more activator, or if you live in a very hot climate, maybe consider storing your slime in the fridge.

Where can I buy borax?
Walmart, it goes for about 5$ for a box.
